We spent the last weekend shooting Haus Mirages’ very first short film, Flicker which is a short horror about being hunted by death herself (don’t ask me why she’s a 'she' but in this story she is) and it was a huge learning experience. They say a film is written 3 times: once when you write the script, once when you shoot and once when you edit and we’re finding that to be very true - as we were shooting, more and more idea’s where coming along that had to be included, problems that we didn’t foresee needed to be solved (and they were) and so the story went.
The most difficult part about it (for me) was staying up far later than I usually do - we shot well past 1 in the morning and got a noise complaint from a seemingly terrified security guard who let us off the hook (out of fear or understanding, we’re not sure).
Here are some of the top 5 exciting things that happened:
The shots were terrifying
The bloopers were hysterical
The makeup looked really effective on camera
We got to experiment with different ways of shooting
We scared the neighbours and security guard (accidentally)
The point is this is the official starting point on Haus Mirages’ journey into the film side of the entertainment industry and we couldn’t be prouder.
Stick around for more behind the scenes and our official release of our short film Flicker.
Here at Haus Mirage,
You can unleash your imagination.
